Davis, Sherry
I studied art at Brooklyn College. Since then, I’ve taken courses at the New York Academy of Art, School of Visual Arts, Hunter College and the Manhattan Graphics Center. My experience includes a competition-winning cover for a program for Grizzly Bear and Owen Pallett with the Brooklyn Philharmonic, the ‘Gentrification’ show at Brooklyn Art Space, and ‘There’s a Story Here’ at St. Joseph’s College. In winter and spring of 2012, I designed and painted the roll-down gate mural for the Iglesia Pentacostal, with the Uncover Church Avenue Initiative. In spring 2013, I created an installation for The Bay Ridge Bakery as part of the SAW Initiative. In the summer of 2013, I received a full scholarship from the Manhattan Graphics Center to learn silkscreen techniques and created a piece for their upcoming show. I live in the Kensington neighborhood of Brooklyn, with my husband, daughter, and dog.
