Baltarzuk, Alexandra

Alexandra draws from life – en plein air, at music venues, in the subways and streets, and in her studio.  Her paintings are inspired by the extraordinary beauty found in nature, the aesthetics of the human form, the thrill of listening to fine musicianship, and by her dream diary, which she has kept for all of her adult life. She is also an agile, three-dimensional thinker and the lifelike sculpting of the human form is an intrinsic element of her creative journey.

“When I am engaged in painting, drawing, or sculpture, I enter an intensely lucid state which heightens my appreciation of all things that surround me.  Colors become more vivid; surprising in the unique ways they impact upon my work.  Satisfying compositions are suddenly revealed in what was once an “ordinary” setting.  Elegant forms may manifest themselves as if they are not of my hand but merely come through my hand. This essential characteristic of my creative process fuels my hopes for the future and the possibilities it holds.”

Alexandra is a resident of South Midwood, Brooklyn, NY
