Nancy Clearwater Herman lives and works in Pennsylvania but has two children and five grandchildren who live in Brooklyn. As a result a good share of her work is inspired by Brooklyn. She has a popular blog, Postcards from Merion where she paints several paintings a week and posts comments about her art. She has written and illustrated two children's books, OLIVE AND STICKY BEAR and JOE AND THE ADOBIANS and published two books of paintings from her blog, POSTCARDS FROM MERION and POSTCARDS FROM BROOKLYN, which are available on Amazon. Her paintings and prints are represented by Graver's Lane Gallery in Chestnut Hill and online by Zatista, Sachi, Ugallery, Artfinder, and DailyPaintworks.
She also makes videos. Her video, THE RED BIKE, made entirely in Brooklyn with her Brooklyn family, was shown at the NEW MEDIA FILM FESTIVAL in Los Angeles in 2014. She has a channel on YouTube where her 'songs' created on iPad are featured along with many color music videos.
She has work in the Philadelphia Museum of Art, The Museum of the State of Pennsylvania, the Brevard Museum in Florida and the San Jose Museum of Textiles and Quilts in California as well as over 100 public and private collections.
