I am a Pakistani-born artist whose paintings reflect the stories of immigrants, ethnicities, cultures, and social events. They tell of people who, while looking for greener pastures, get buried at sea, or who are protesting social injustices, or who are joyfully dancing and celebrating life. I also paint landscapes, some of which hold a profound meaning for me while others are purely for their aesthetic value. Paint only acts as a medium for me---it is the storyteller couched in color who opens the doors to let us into the lives of people and to beautiful magical scenery that captures our soul or imagination. |
